WF480CW1 is a master alloy for 585-750‰ (14-18 Kt) white gold jewelry, designed for mechanical working.

WF480CW1 is suitable for continuous casting and for ingot casting of semi-finished items such as sheet. It is also suitable for the production of tube from continuous casting.

The main processes of 585-750‰ gold made using WF480CW1 are CNC and lathe production.

The color of 750‰ gold made using WF480CW1 shows a standard white color grade (Yellow index: 24.3). In title 585‰ the alloy has a premium white color grade (Yellow index: 18.8). In 750‰ title it is recommended to proceed with rhodium plating deposition on surface in order to ensure maximum whiteness on the final jewel. This operation is not necessary in title 585‰.

The hardness of 750‰ gold alloyed with WF480CW1 can be moderately increased by means of a heat treatment.

The alloy is not suitable for age-hardening in lower titles.
